Tile Cleaning
Modern Tile Designs are beautiful, futuristic, versatile, and pleasing. They have been decorating homes for thousands of years. Tiles are elegant and unique. Besides, they help decorate tabletops, wall partitions, decorative panels, and wall niches. Tiles these days are durable, easy to maintain, and resistant to stains. Regularly cleaned tiles, whether they are ceramic, travertine or terracotta are always low maintenance. Besides, they do not need expensive periodical deep cleaning.
So Why Do Tiles Get Dirty ?
- Mopping Tiles before Dusting – Mopping tiles before they are clear of dust and dirt isn’t a good idea. Sweeping the tile floor before mopping causes dirt build-up, thus making them look unclean.
- Overuse of Chemicals – The overuse of chemicals can lead to tiles that look unclean. This is known as chemical residue build-up, a common tile maintenance issue. These chemicals need to be scrubbed off or completely removed as they tend to attract more dirt.
- Not Using Microfibre Mops – Microfibre mops are designed to reduce the need for dust mopping. It is a good practice to use Microfibre mops before the damp cleaning process for efficient cleaning.
Steam Cleaning Tile Floors by JMD Cleaning Services
JMD uses the modern steam mop to render a professional clean to most ceramic tile floors in use at homes. Here are some of the steps followed while steam mopping:
- Remove Loose Dirt – Use a vacuum cleaner to begin cleaning the tile floor. This will remove dust, lint, and debris from the surface. You can sweep the surface if you do not have time to vacuum it.
- Use a Microfibre Pad – The steam mop we use to clean tiles will require a Microfibre pad. These are usually washable and reusable. You might have to periodically swap out pads if the tile floors are dirty.
- Steam Mopping the Floor – Steam mopping requires skill as the machine cannot be held in one place for too long. As the high-temperature mop can damage or crack the tiles if they are overheated. Our personnel know how to walk the floor by mopping forward & backward and by using broad sweeping strokes.
- Dry Floor After Cleaning – Leave the floor to dry for 5 to 10 minutes after cleaning. Because not much moisture is left on the floor, it doesn’t take long to dry.
- Seal or Polish If Required – Sealing and polishing a tile floor adds gloss and gives tiles a new look and feel. Tiles can be sealed by using a liquid floor polish. This gives the floor tiles a hard, glossy coating when it dries.
